Boros Energy vs Song of Creation 1-2
This article is part of a series on Boros Energy.
Game 1:
- Kept a slow hand with lots of disruption.
- I thought I was playing against something where Tamiyo mattered a lot and kept killing it.
- Then Song of Creation hit the board and won on the spot.
I guess I'd have won if:
- I played faster, instead of disrupting the opponent.
- Kept the Mana Tithe for the combo piece, rather than hitting Tamiyo #2 with it.
Game 2:
Boarded in six cards and found none of them. Won by Ajani + Bombardment + Phlage. Is the lesson to just play threats?
- Tried to use Ajani as a board wipe. Opponent baited a chum block out of me and then shot Ajani with Unholy Heat. That was a good play.
- The board wipe ended up not mattering, won by shooting tokens from Bombardment and Phlage + Arena.
Game 3:
Hand wasn't the fastest, but Voice of Victory + Guide of Souls + Goblin Bombardment probably would have won if the opponent didn't combo of on turn 3. Maybe would've won this game if I had a Mana Tithe or something to shoot Jace, Wielder of Mysteries with?
Is the lesson to just play interaction?
Recap:
- Post-board, I probably should have tried to always have Reprieve to stop the combo.
- Jace, Wielder of Mysteries is out of range for Galvanic Discharge so maybe I should have boarded those out in favor of more ways to stop the combo?
- In game 1, I maybe should have kept the Mana Tithe rather than use it on the Tamiyo. On the other hand, they did have the extra mana up, so it probably wouldn't have made a difference.
